Kayak Sand Combo

The Kayak and Sand Combo is the combination of Eco-Kayaking at Pelican Point and dune drive to a breathtaking Sandwich Harbour in the Namib Naukluft Park.

The day starts with Kayaking. Meeting point is at Walvis Bay Waterfront, 1st Floor, Board walk building at 7h30. From there you will be taken to meet the guide who will transfer you to Pelican Point for some kayaking with a seal colony and – if you are lucky – even dolphins!

You can choose between single or double kayaks. Around 12h00 you will be back to start the next program for the dune excursion to Sandwich Harbour.

We then continue to the large salt evaporation ponds and then into the Kuiseb River and Delta. The geology of this important River is of greatness and the history of the Topnaar people who for many years use to live in this Delta.

Animals such as springbok come in search of food and water in the Kuiseb Delta. The change in scenery and landscape as we approach our land mark Sandwich Harbour. Sandwich Harbour can be access either by car or foot depend on the weather condition between

low tide and high tide and the best way of experiencing this Southern Africa’s richest and unique wetlands is by feet or by car. Your guide will find a suitable place to serve a light lunch with some Walvis Bay oysters, soft drinks and Champagne. All Equipment for this picnic will be provided and voila Lunch ready.

On our way back, your guide will keep sharing his knowledge on Flora and Fauna, the area with the most highlight is the Roaring dune and sand board to raising some Adrenaline.

Our return to Walvis Bay should be around 16h30.
